Chihu 110 kV Substation Main Transformer Expansion
110 kVSUNENG supplied selected electrical products and components for the Chihu 110 kV substation expansion.
Project context.
The Chihu expansion added a third main transformer to the existing 110 kV substation in Chihu Industrial Park, Chaisang District, Jiujiang. The work introduced one 50 MVA transformer and 4.8 + 3.6 Mvar of reactive compensation, with no additional 110 kV outgoing circuits.
The new transformer sits within the existing outdoor station arrangement, alongside the earlier transformer installations and the 110 kV AIS switchyard. Construction ran from 25 May to 20 September 2024. The equipment views and layout below show how the addition fits into the station.
