Luofang 500 kV Main Transformer Expansion
500 / 220 kVSUNENG supplied selected power transmission and distribution products and components for the Luofang capacity-expansion works.
Project context.
The Luofang expansion adds a third main-transformer bank at the existing 500 kV substation in Luofang Town, Yushui District, Xinyu. The new 1,000 MVA bank raises installed transformer capacity from 1,500 MVA to 2,500 MVA.
Completed works include two 60 Mvar shunt capacitor banks, one 60 Mvar reactor and reconnections of four 220 kV circuits. Construction ran from 16 May 2025 to 5 June 2026. The as-built electrical general arrangement below identifies the equipment positions and retained station layout; field photographs distinguish the new transformer bank from the wider station context.
